Is to help parents of children with special educational needs (0 to 16) and young people themselves with special educational needs (16 to 25) to find the right educational placement or provision to meet their needs.
How we help
We have a Committee of parents and relatives of children with special educational needs who meet six times a year to ensure the charity is meeting its aims and to develop the work of the charity.
What is special educational provision?
The Children and Families Act 2014 brought sweeping changes to how children (0 to 16) and young people’s needs are assessed and provided for. Children and young people will be provided with an Education, Health & Care Plan to meet their needs.
Young people 16 to 25 can now represent themselves and we are able to help them find the provision that meets their needs. Parents still have the same right of appeal over provision or placement for their child.
